Soft Claws Artificial Nails

Item No.: 2041

Size

35,95
Description

As an animal physical therapist, I frequently encounter excessive nail wear, often to the point of bleeding. This not only causes the dog pain, but often results in inflammation. A sock or shoe can then be a solution; unfortunately not all dogs like this solution, nor is the fit always ideal.

After a test by 3 owners, the Soft Claws was added to the range; artificial nails that are glued to the nail stump.

Three owners tested the product and three owners were satisfied. Downside: d

Usage:

  • Because the nails are already too short, there is no need to cut the nails first. With the glue, which is harmless to animals, the artificial nail is stuck on the nail that is too short. Absolute condition: there must still be sufficient hold and the nail must not bleed yet. Lubricate the contact area of the nail with a little Vaseline. Instead of your own nail, the artificial nail now wears off. Because the artificial nail is hollow, the patient's own nail has a chance to grow again. Do not choose a nail that is too big!
  • For size XS to size M, applicators are included to get the glue into the nail better;
  • Because the nails are also less sharp, the artificial nails can also be used to reduce the effects of scratching;
  • In the package XXXL and XXL there are 3 tubes of glue; in the package of the other sizes 2 tubes of glue;
  • Keep the tubes of glue in the refrigerator to prevent the glue from drying in;
  • For removing the caps, see "Additional Information" under this description;
  • The 2 or 3 tubes of glue (size dependent) in the package are not always enough. Therefore, additional glue is also available.

The package consists of 40 nails, 2 or 3 tubes of veterinary glue (size dependent)

Sizing:

The nails are available in 7 sizes; from XS to XXXL. When sizing, assume your dog's ideal weight.

Removing caps:

Generally the nail caps will fall off on their own 4-6 weeks after application. If the nail caps have not fallen off by 8 weeks after the application, then we recommend that you remove the caps. To remove Soft Paws, trim the tip of the nail cap as if you were trimming the dog's nails, apply slight pressure to the base, and gently massage. This should break the adhesive seal allowing you to pop the nail caps off.

If this does not break the adhesive seal you may need to use a pair of cat nail clippers (if you don't have a pair of these, you can try a small pair of cuticle scissors). You do not want to try to pry the clippers between the nail cap and the dog's nail. Simply place it flush against the top of the nail cap and trim away at the vinyl to make an opening from the open tip to the base. Once you have made the opening, peel the cap away from the nail as if "butterflying" it.

Upon completing the removal process, you may proceed with applying a new set of Soft Paws. Start by trimming the dog's nails as short as is comfortable without hitting the quick. After all nails have been trimmed, it is important that you clean the ridge on the underside of the nail so that it is free of dirt or debris. Fill the nail caps 1/3 full with adhesive, roll the cap around in between your index finger and thumb so the adhesive is evenly distributed throughout the nail cap, and slide the cap on the dog's nail.
